I just purchased the dry starter and am in the process of activating it, would like to know how long it takes, and does it make sense that its a dough texture on the second day?
Hi,
Generally it takes 2-4 days depending on the ambient and flour you use… Yes the second day it may look a little more stiff but the texture should change by the third day.
Hi
I just saw your video . How much I take from the ready starter on 3 rd day to do a 5 pound challah recipe . …
If I have leftover from your starter which I fed once … do I need to continue this feeding process ? I don’t think I will be using every week …
Confused and willing to learn [email protected]
