Ingredients

  • 20 pitted dates
  • 2 cups toasted almonds
  • 1/4 cup tahini paste
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 4 oz chocolate, melted

Instructions

  • In a food processor with the S blade, process the almonds until they look like a paste.
  • Add the pitted dates, tahini paste, and salt to the food processor, and process until a sticky, crumbly batter is formed. Avoid over-processing, as this can cause the batter to become oily.
  • Transfer the batter into an 8x8 inch pan and flatten it with a spatula. Chill the pan in the refrigerator for 3-5 hours.
  • Once the bars have chilled, remove the pan from the refrigerator and cut the batter into 16 bars.
  • Drizzle the melted chocolate over the bars.

Notes

 If your dates are not soft, soak them in boiling water for a few minutes before adding them to the food processor.
